Crockarell Dentistry

Mission statement
Many things have made me realize how much I miss Family Private Practice. I spent what many would consider the best decade of life assuring a means of getting through college, dental school and beginning a private practice. The next 30 years were spent in that education and practice that all dentists must go through in order to perfect their Art.
I have realized that to stop or retire would be, to me, such a waste of all that time and preparation when I have so much more to give. I have been sickened to hear people talk about their experiences with corporate-like dentistry and the unethical selling of dental treatment in one way or another. This is not new but now permeates a large percentage of practices. One thing is undeniably clear, whether in medical or dental treatment; there is no place for selling and quotas when it comes to the treatment of our bodies.
And last but most importantly, I am dedicating this dental practice to all the great dentists I have known who were, in different ways, mentors to me along the way. Some of these were able to work into the twilight years of life while others were not so fortunate and left us much too early. They would all give much to be able to do it again. To all of them I say Thank You!
About my practice
I began my dental career at the age of 19 as a dental assistant/hygienist in the United States Navy. I was stationed aboard the USS Sierra and worked with different dentists from all over the United States for four years. I have always valued that experience above any other dental education since. After finishing dental school at the University of Tennessee, I built a successful family practice for over 30 years. Our treatment included everything from cleanings to state of the art implant dentistry.
I made the common mistake of retiring too soon and within six months realized dentistry was just too much of everything I was in life. It has been my career focus since early adulthood. And so after a short retirement, during which I worked doing mostly oral surgery and some general dentistry at a correctional facility, I have begun private practice again. I don't plan to EVER be without it!
